Validation of a 3D Pore Scale Prediction Model for the Thermal Conductivity of Porous Building Materials
Abstract
The accuracy of a 3D pore-scale model for predicting the effective thermal conductivity of porous building materials is investigated. A verification study on several elementary materials is complemented with a validation study on a commercial sintered-glass filter, demonstrating the model’s performance. Two case studies are finally presented, indicating the model’s applicability for studying the impact of pore structure parameters on the total effective thermal conductivity.
