Analysis of Pantograph Failure Prediction for CRH3 EMUs

JIE JIANG, HAIRONG SUN, NA LI

Abstract

The faults form the pantograph are key factors thar can affect the efficiency of the railway transportation and causing safety accidents. Therefore, accurate diagnosis and prediction of pantograph faults are of great significance to improving traffic safety. There is a strong correlation between the flow conditions of the EMUs during operation and the bow-net contact pressure. The contact pressure of the pantograph and the catenary can intuitively reflect the contact state between the pantograph slide and the catenary. According to the measurement data of the pantograph contact pressure and the thickness of the slide, and the real-time network pressure data, combined with the key fault types, the bow can be extracted. The fault eigenvalues of the network are used to construct a pantograph fault prediction model and a pantograph fault prediction analysis is performed.
