Abstract

Based on adding the vibration sensor on the rail which can be arranged continuously, the paper lays out a tread and rail fault detection algorithm based on continuous time and space. The algorithm compares the signal difference and the RMS value of each short period with the weighted RMS value of whole test signal to extract effective signal data, and then compare the effective data of each short period with calculated parameters to determine whether the device fault is present, and then make sure the fault occurs on the rail or on the tread by comparing more groups of data. At last, optical fiber sensor, as a vibration sensor which can be arranged continuously, is tested on the 1:5 multi-functional vehicle test circuit in Tongji University. The feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm were initially verified.
