Abstract

To study the combustion rules of multi-perforated gun propellants, the closed bomb test of 19-perforated grain gun propellants and stick gun propellants and curve-cut stick gun propellants was accomplished. Combustion rules of the gun propellants in different pressure were concluded according to analyzing the data of test. The results also show the effects on the propellant combustion performance caused by different type size. A combustion model of 19-perforated curve-cut stick gun propellants was built by researching the change of combustion rate in the process of burning in the chamber. The results of the closed bomb test were used in an interior ballistic model of those propellants. The model was used to calculate different ballistic schemes to study that how the propellants with different combustion performance affect the interior ballistic performance. The calculation model was proved to be feasible by comparing the simulated results of one scheme with the results of ballistic gun test.
