Study of Bi-experiment Inverse Method for Thermal Characterization of Fiber-reinforced Composites
Abstract
In order to perform a thermal analysis of the thermoforming of a thermoplastic composite rivet, the thermal conductivities of the composite need to be known. A bi-experiment inverse method which can evaluate the thermal conductivities of orthotropic materials is introduced. The method is described in details. Several simulations are conducted to prove the method’s feasibility and reliability. The results show that the inverse method can handle noise in the experimental data and can converge with various starting points.
