Wireless and Batteryless Accelerometry for Aircraft Structural Health Monitoring

Abstract


This paper presents the design of a self-powered impact sensor dedicated to Structural Health Monitoring for aeronautic applications. The purpose of this work is to identify and implement technological solutions that meet specific requirements for on-ground operation. A prototype featuring thermal energy harvesting, supercapacitor- based energy storage and 3D-accelerometry is demonstrated.
