Applying Fire-LCA Methodology to Fire Protection Systems in Buildings
Abstract
The use of Fire-LCA output data as input to fire engineering design models are demonstrated for a simple case of a load bearing column protected by mineral wool. The Fire-LCA model takes accidental fires into account as a possible end of life scenario for the building elements, affecting environmental impact and service life. The method only considers preprocessed LCA data and uses simple engineering tools
