Vibration based Static Monitoring of Rolling Element Bearing in High Speed Trains
Abstract
Vibration based method has been widely used as a powerful tool to assist condition monitoring of rotating machines. In order to eliminate the indeterminacy induced by conventional manual detection of rolling element bearing in high speed trains, a vibration based static monitoring process has been proposed. Kurtogram algorithm is firstly used to remove the noise in the original vibration signal of rolling element bearings. Subsequently, envelope analysis is applied to extract characteristic vibration features of roller bearings. The practical test has proved the effectiveness of the proposed semi-automatic method for condition monitoring of axle box bearing in high speed trains.
