Equilibrium Velocity Distribution Function for Traffic Flow

Abstract

The lattice Boltzmann model for traffic flow is difficult to be employed and the key point is how to construct a reasonable equilibrium velocity distribution function. In this paper, a new approach is proposed which can construct equilibrium velocity distribution function conveniently. A special equilibrium velocity distribution function is given by considering the velocity-density relation which is related to the specific road condition. The characteristics of velocity distribution curves are also in discussion
