Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of the Shock Damping and the Shock Increased by Means of Lorentz Force

Abstract


The flow around a circular cylinder in the electromagnetic field is simulated numerically by the Lattice Boltzmann method. The effect of Lorentz force (electromagnetic force) acting on the flow of weak electric medium solution is investigated. Numerical results verify that Lorentz force can modify the boundary layer around a circular cylinder, achieve to control drag reduction and increased, control the shock damping and the shock increased. It confirms that lattice Boltzmann method is suitable for simulating the flow around circular cylinder in electromagnetic field
