A Lattice Boltzmann Based Immersed Boundary Method for Fluid-Structure Interaction
Abstract
An immersed boundary-lattice Boltzmann method (IB-LBM) is presented for simulating the two-dimensional flows over a circular cylinder. In this model, the velocity is contributed by two parts. One is from the density distribution function and the other is from the body force. It makes the non-slip boundary condition at the solid wall enforced. A Dirac function is introduced in this work to make the exchange of information between lattice nodes and control points local. It presents that the locality of the LBM scheme is preserved. The present results for the steady flows compare very well with available data in the literature
