The Concrete Model of the Penetration Problems on Meso-level

W.F. XU, X.C. HUANG, Z.M. HAO, Y. WANG, Y.M. XIA

Abstract

On meso-level, the concrete was heterogeneous because of kinds of aggregates. And the heterogeneity of the concrete would affect the ballistic responses. To study the influence, the meso-model of concrete (‘numerical concrete’) should be conducted. Most of the ‘numerical concrete’ was constituted with mortar, aggregates and the interface between them. The ‘numerical concrete’ in the paper was composted with mortar and aggregate. And the interfaces were replaced by connected strength. From the simply study of the normal penetration into concrete target, it was founded that: the stress symmetry affected by the randomly-distributed aggregates would change the missile trace, which couldn’t be alternated in the homogeneous model, and that the residual velocity of the missile decreased with the increase of the connected strength of the interfaces.
