Application of NCS Soil Agent in Treating the Super-wet Soil

Abstract

The composite solidified material—NCS soil agent is composed of lime, cement and SCA.Thereinto,SCA is the inorganic material of high performance and strong water-absorbent. According to the treatment projects, the super-wet soil in Ya’an area of Sichuan province is improved by the lime, cement and NCS soil agent. Based on the results of indoor test, the engineering characteristics of the improved super-wet soil such as compaction characteristics, unconfined compressive strength are studied. Furthermore, the relations between the engineering characteristics of the improved super-wet soil and the quantity of the additive are analysized. The researches show that:(1)the water content of the improved super-wet soil decreases in a large extent;(2) the unconfined compressive strength improves obviously; (3)the optimum water content is bigger than the initial soil.
