Analyses of Adhesive Contact Problem for Non-homogeneous Medium Based on a Multi-layer Model
Abstract
The present paper is aimed at a more systematic study of the adhesive contact of non-homogeneous medium coatings with arbitrary spatial variation of material properties. We consider a non-homogeneous medium coating perfectly bonded to an elastic half-space and indented by a rigid spherical indenter. A Maugis type of adhesion model is used to describe the effect of the presents of adhesion. We will build multi-layer computational models to simulate the non-homogeneous medium with arbitrary spatial variation of material properties. By using the Hankle integrate transform technique and transfer matrix methods, the adhesive contact problem of non-homogeneous medium is reduced to a integrate equation.
