Physical Aging of Glassy Polyvinyl Chloride in Non-uniform Stress Field
Abstract
Creep experiments have been used to measure the viscoelastic property of glassy PVC under tensile and dual cantilever loading modes at 25~35 K below Tg. Characteristic creep rate decreases with aging time and increases with temperature, and the value under tensile loading mode is more than that of dual cantilever loading mode. In primary stage of aging, the evolution of characteristic creep rate under tensile loading mode is faster than that of dual cantilever loading mode. However, in the later stage of aging, the evolution is the same although the value of characteristics creep rate is different.
