A Study on Packaging Law and Regulation System in China

Abstract

This thesis combs the legal norm about packaging activities that are scattered in some main Economic Laws such as the Environmental Protection Law, Law on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste, and the Clean Production Law through the literature research method. Meanwhile, it concludes some basic principles like the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, the principle of sustainable development, and the packaging life cycle whole process control principle of the packaging law and regulation system that formed by these legal norms. The thesis puts forward that China should make legislation on the packaging industry under the context of advancing the rule of law nationwide in China, so as to promote the sustainable and healthy development and the transformation and upgrading of China’s packaging industry.
