Color Matching Method of Three Wavelengths Based on Density Measurement
Abstract
In printing industry, densitometer is used as dedicated color measurement instrument. For densitometer to replace spectrophotometer as the professional instrument to spot-color matching, the Color Matching Method of Three Wavelengths is proposed by improving E. Allen model in this paper. 3 wavelengths that match the spectrum property of the color densitometer are used to instead of the original 16 wavelengths, as the parameter to match the tristimulus values. Color matching experiments results show that this method provide an effective color matching. This method not only simplifies the calculation, but also makes it feasible to use densitometer to measure and match color, and use computation in spot-color printing.
