Abstract

Distribution packages are commonly stacked as unit loads, and vibration is the main hazard that causes product damage in the logistics stage. This study aims to propose a simulation method that considers the vibration of multi-layer stacking distribution packages. Firstly, a dynamical model of a single-layer package was studied to clarify vibration mechanism. Secondly, a simulation model is built to clarify the vibration of a single-layer package. Thirdly, a multi-layer vibration model is proposed based on the single-layer model, and the calculation method of simulation parameters is researched by using a mathematical model. Verification experiments are also performed with two self-designed typical boxes. Furthermore, we investigate a correction method for the simulation errors and analyze the relationship between the spring constant of a multi-layer and that of a single layer and the stacking layer number. Finally, two types of equations are thus proposed for the multi-layer stacking model of distribution packages.
