Fatigue Modeling for Intra-laminar Damage of Composite Materials Based on Continuum Damage Mechanics
Abstract
The aim of this study is to model intra-laminar fatigue damage of composite materials based on continuum damage mechanics. In this study, the fatigue model is defined as a damage evolution law in which the intra-laminar damage progresses with increasing number of cycles of cyclic loading. This paper presents a method which combines fatigue damage analysis with a cycle jump algorithm. Fatigue damage analysis are conducted and the results of the simulation are compared with experimental data for the validation of the fatigue model.
