Abstract

Shaped charge studies are being carried out from decades. The shaped charge penetrators are the high velocity jets formed from liners when collapsed axially. In order to further increase the velocity, the waver shaper is used which change the shape shockwave and increase the rate of collapse. So, to assemble this wave shaper and liner in the charge mass different methods are used such as in-citu pressed/ casted. But when they are assembled with two different billets it is difficult to ensure the perpendicular, surface to surface contact etc. due to tolerances provided for hardware manufacturing or any other machining error. Due to above mentioned problems there may be angular or planer gap between two billets, offset initiation etc. The effect of these parameters on jet is presented this paper using ANSYS AUTODYN simulation software
