Abstract

Mode conversion warhead is one of the key points in the field of warhead research. In this paper, based on the understanding of the current research situation of the mode conversion warhead, the influence of the wave-shaper on the damaged elements formation of PELE/EFP mode conversion warhead was studied by combining theoretical analysis with numerical simulation. The results show that the warhead structure in this paper can form two kinds of damage elements: PELE and EFP; In EFP mode, the larger diameter of the wave-shaper, the larger the length of the damage element, the length-to-diameter ratio, the head-to-tail speed and the head-to-tail speed gradient; The length of the damage element varies from 105.58mm to 126.57mm, and the length-to-diameter ratio varies is 3.36~3.94; In the PELE mode, the change in the diameter of the wave-shaper has less effect on the formation of the damage element.
