Research on Technology of Launching Projectiles with Preset Attack Angle Using an Artillery
Abstract
In this paper, the experimental technology of launching a projectile with preset attack angle is studied by using one 152mm ballistic gun. A whole set of technical problems in penetration test of firing preset angle-of-attack projectiles by artillery is solved through reasonably designing the front and rear centering device to preset the attack angle in gun bore, controlling a finite yaw moment by the flight resistance after launch, and determining velocity by net target measurement and attitude by high-speed camera. Test results show that the technology is convenient, with well-controlled attitude of the projectile and satisfying accuracy of preset attack angle, which meets the technical requirements of the penetration test of the preset angle- of -attack projectiles. This test technology has been successfully applied to large-diameter Davis Gun tests of ground-penetrating warheads, demonstrating the whole set of test techniques is feasible and reliable.
