Study of Bonded Flake Structure in Explosively Formed Projectile with Fins
Abstract
Numerical simulation of obtaining EFP with fins by a flake structure which was bonded to the internal surface of liner was carried out with the ALE method using LS-DYNA. An EFP with fins was obtained when the charge was detonated at the center point. The mechanism of forming EFP with fins was discussed based on curves of velocity of the liner. The result shows that such a charge structure can form EFP with four fins, the length-diameter ratio of EFP with fins is 2.41 times that of EFP and its velocity slightly below the velocity of EFP.
