Research on the Attitude Change of Projectile with Nose-Cone When Penetrating Multi-Layer-Interval Steel Targets at Big Impact Angles
Abstract
In order to analyze the attitude change process of projectile with nose-cone while penetrating the multi-layer-interval steel targets at big impact angles, the attitude change process of projectiles was analyzed when the projectile with nose-cone penetrated the double-layer-interval steel targets(DLIST) at 60° impact angle and four-layer-interval steel targets(FLIST) at 30° impact angle by using LS-Dyna, and verification test was also done by using 156mm gun. The simulation results show that the axis of projectiles and ballistic lines both deflect to normal direction of targets in the process of penetrating the DLIST and FLIST, but the deflection angles are not very big. The deflection angle of projectile axis reached up to 11.5° approximately after penetrating the second-layer steel target in the test of penetrating DLIST, and it reached up to 8.3° and 9.3° approximately after penetrating the third-layer and fourth-layer steel targets in the test of penetrating FLIST.
