Research of Lethality Enhancement of a Kinetic Kill Vehicle Technology of Air Defense and Anti-missile Missile

Abstract


The lethality enhancement of a kinetic kill vehicle is a cutting-edge technology of any air defense and anti-missile weapon system. Relying on the Xi'an Modern Chemistry Research Institute’s leading technology research platform of propellants, explosives, air defense and anti-missile missile, it was proposed to enhance the lethality of a kinetic kill vehicle scheme by linear explosive charge. The lethality enhancement of the kinetic kill vehicle technical parameters and damage effect index was calculated in detail. It was proposed to apply reactive materials fragments in order to improve the ability to impact and damage the target. The key technology and test results have been achieved and are summarized.
