Investigation into the Coating and Desensitization Effect on HMX of F2604-2 and DOS Composite System
Abstract
This paper explores HMX coating and desensitization coated by of F2604-2 binder and DOS plasticizer. The compatibility issue was firstly investigated by VST, which was often neglected in literatures. The structure and mechanical sensitivity of raw and coated HMX samples were investigated by SEM and impact and friction sensitivity test, respectively. VST result proves that all materials used in question are compatible with each other. Compared with that of raw HMX, both impact and friction sensitivity of HMX coated with 1.0 wt.% F2604-2 and 1.0 wt.% DOS decrease significantly, where the drop height (H50) is increased from 18.0 to 50.6cm, and the friction probability is reduced from 100 to 36%.
