Research on Pressure Calculating of Propellant Gas with Simple Extended Corresponding State Principle

BIN XU, SANJIU YING, XIN LIAO

Abstract

Focused on the limitation of the virial equation, which is caused by calculation of the virial coefficients, a simple extended corresponding state principle (SE-CSP) was introduced in this work. Based on a corresponding state equation including three characteristic parameters, another extended parameter was introduced to describe the second virial coefficient expressions of the main products of propellant gas. Comparisons predictions of this work and the closed bomb tests show that the extrapolated revised SE-CSP virial expressions are appropriate for the maximum pressure calculation of propellant gas in high temperature and pressure in constant volume. This method provides a convenient and efficient method in practical virial coefficient calculation without complicated molecular model design and integral calculations.
