Abstract

The results of phased array imaging could be easily affected by Lamb wave dispersion characteristic. In this paper, a linearly dispersive signal construction (LDSC) method is presented for dispersion removal and applied for phased array quantitative imaging of fatigue cracks. LDSC is firstly studied for dispersion compensation. Then, after the traditional phased array beamforming algorithm is analyzed, the LDSC-based phased array quantitative imaging method is developed for crack identification. An experiment is also arranged to validate the proposed LDSC and phased array quantitative crack imaging methods.
