Diminishing Department of Defense (DoD) budgets require increased efficiency. Maintaining operational readiness while reducing operation and sustainment (O&S) costs is achieved through Cost Wise Readiness (CWR) initiatives. Army Aviation leads the way to implement, measure and communicate efficiencies. The U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM) AMCOM Logistics Center (ALC) develops and implements CWR initiatives through projects focused on reducing cost. Multiple Army offices collaborate to develop capabilities to support CWR, integrating systems to incorporate Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) to manage logistics and airworthiness. Avoiding certain costs within O&S activities while generating combat power is achievable through the remediation of maintenance enabled through CBM+ initiatives. In this paper, we demonstrate how yielded benefits are measured.
