On the Evaluation of Delamination Resistance in Composites

Abstract



This paper critically discusses the state-of-the-art in evaluating delamination resistance in composite materials and structures. It identifies the appropriate parameters for similitude in quasi-static and fatigue delamination growth predictions, and highlights the significance of presenting the fatigue delamination resistance against both the monotonic and cyclic components of these parameters. Based upon the results being presented it emphasizes the way forward in delamination resistance evaluation.
