Analyzing the Effect of the Axial Force to the Natural Frequencies of Arch
Abstract
spline finite point method was presented for studying on the natural frequency of arch structures. The displacement mode shape function of arch structures was simulated with a linear combination of the cubic B spline functions. Based on the curved bar deformation theory, the frequency equation of arch structures was derived according to Hamilton principle through which the axial force was considered. The calculation program was compiled with MATLAB language. The effects of the axial force to the natural frequency of arch structures were studied. The natural frequency of arch structures is smaller if the axial force considered. The effects depend on the rigidity of arch structures their own. When the arch stiffness is certain, the bigger the rise span ration and the radius to thickness ration, the higher the effect of the dead load on the natural frequency of arch structures
