Fast Preparation of a Superhydrophobic Surface with Anti-corrosion Property on a Copper Foil
Abstract
Enhancing the anti-corrosion property of metal-based packaging materials is very important in practical applications. Superhydrophobic surface has high water contact angle and low sliding angle, and showing better anti-corrosion property compared with common metal-based materials surface. Herein, a fast preparation method was developed to prepare a superhydrophobic surface with water contact angle of 163 ± 2 ° on a copper foil by a simple deposition of candle soot coating. The whole preparation time is no more than 0.5 h, and the preparation method does not damage the mechanical property of the substrate. The as-prepared superhydrophobic surface showed high mechanical and anti-corrosion. This study may provide a new way for the protection of metal materials.
