Simulation and Analysis of Wear on SAG Mill

Wear of semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill is an important characteristic parameter in actual grinding process, the wear reduction of SAG mill is helpful to the life and efficiency of grinding. Discrete element method (DEM) with Hertz–Mindlin (no slip) model were used in this paper to simulate working process of the SAG mill, and the simulation results were analyzed. Wear of SAG mill is not only related to the size of abrasive, but also the result of the combined action of the quantity of material and the quality of individual material particles. This result provides certain reference significance for the manufacture and material selection of the mill.
