Combustion Behavior of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics
Abstract
This paper describes the evaluation of the flame resistance on Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP). CFRP have the both conflicting performance between the lightness and the toughness. Use of the CFRP has increased dramatically since it was introduced 40 years ago. On the other hand, it is difficult for CFRP to add the flame retardancy in getting use of vehicle and airplane. In order to increase demand for a safety, we embarked on the fundamental research of CFRP that includes flame retardant.
