Study on Detonation Loading and Dispersal Properties of Discrete Rod
Abstract
The detonation loading and dispersal properties of discrete rod are studied. One end planar initiation and centric single point initiation modes are designed to research the wave front output pressure distribution and loading properties of discrete rod, which determine the dispersal and intact properties of discrete rods. The specific impulse distributions of main charge with two initiation modes are calculated theoretically. It shows that the maximum impulse of central initiation is almost 2.18 times that of one end initiation. The velocity distributions of rod’s micro-units are slow-up-and then-fast-down for one end initiation and symmetric for centric point initiation respectively, and the maximum micro-unit velocities of two initiation modes are similar. The effective length of rod for centric point initiation is the 96.3% of original length while for one end initiation is 89.2%. The simulation exhibits the same results with the theoretical analysis. From these analyses, it can be concluded that combined impulse, velocity and effective length, compared with one end initiation, the centric point initiation has better destruction efficiency.
