Research of Wave Interaction for Multiple Jet Penetration into Concrete
Abstract
Multiple shaped charges penetration into concrete has been investigated with experiments and simulations have been conducted in the past several years. However, the theoretical research on multi-jet penetration into concrete has not been reported yet. Based on the characteristics of shaped charge jet penetration into concrete, the formation and propagation of shock wave created by shaped charge jet penetration concrete is analyzed in this paper. The radial stress and tangential stress are obtained by crater stagnation pressure and radial crater growth velocity as the radius increases. Moreover, a theoretical model of wave interaction for multiple jets penetration into concrete is also presented in this paper, furthermore the appearance and evolution of crack on the concrete target is discussed. Experiments of four shaped charges penetration concrete were performed to verify theoretical analysis. It is shown that large crater was formed by both two kinds of multiple shaped charges. Theoretical calculations are well agreement with experiments.
