RAFAL BAZELA, JACEK BORKOWSKI, BOGDAN KRYSINSKI, RADOSLAW WARCHOL

Abstract

The article discusses the issues associated with decreased sensitivity of the fuzes to the effects of random external factors that could cause their explosion. It presents an analysis of the characteristics of the fuzes fire chain in the currently used artillery fuzes, as well as the directions of work aiming at developing the structure of new, safer to use and high performance fuzes, and their potential application in insensitive ammunition. The article also shows selected examples of new designs that increase the resilience of the fuzes to the effects of dangerous external factors.
